Cuando Homer se olvida del cumpleaños de Moe, el enfado y desolación del barman inspira a Lisa para escribir sobre él en un trabajo del colegio. Ella encuentra un lado poético en Moe y le ayuda a publicar en "Perspectivas Poéticas Americanas". Sin embargo, cuando Moe es invitado a una conferencia literaria en Vermont donde se encontrará con famosos escritores como Gore Vidal, Michael Chabon, Tom Wolfe y Jonathan Franzen (todos interpretándose a sí mismos), se atribuye todo el mérito sin pensar en los sentimientos de Lisa.
